 If you want you can start to apply these protocols before your appointment, expect the integrative treatment that will be sended to you a few days before.

DETOX

In this programme all of our treatments start with a detox protocol, it helps to provide a more effective treatment. Our bodies are full of toxins due the modern lifestyle and it is not often to have a daily practice to eliminate them. This is why an accumulation of toxins can be the cause or a big part of an illness. 

It's normal to feel some symptoms and changes in your body when you are doing a detox. Like: headaches, diarrhea, stomachache, weakness and more. All these symptoms are a sign that the detox is working, so go through it until the symptoms pass. They won't last more than 2-3 days.  

You only can choose only one of the options provided, it is not recommended to realize both protocols. 

We recommend staying hydrated at least with 2 liters of water daily.

 

OPTION 1 - Colon hydrotherapy

It's a therapeutic procedure that improves and restores the functions of the large intestine or the colon. The main goal of this procedure is to clean the intestinal wall through soft and safe irrigation with purified warm water and remove all the toxins adhered to the internal wall.

For the colon hydrotherapy detox we recommend 5 sessions for 5 straight days (one daily session for 5 days).

If you can follow the established schedule, choose the other detox option.

During this days, we suggest:

  • Liquid diet from the day before starting the hydrotherapy, during the 5 days of treatment and one day after the last session. 
  • Eat vegetable soups adding two spoons of olive oil to each plate and one portion of liquid protein (beef or chicken). Examples of the soups: spinach, broccoli, zucchini, pumpkin, chard. 
  • Drink 1 liter of water with ½ cup of blended flaxseed from the day before starting the treatment and the following 5 days. 
  • Drink a tablespoon of bentonite or zeolite in a cup of water 6 times a day from the day before starting the treatment and the following 5 days . 
  • Just the day before starting the treatment, drink 60 ml of Castor Oil with the juice of 2 lemons or   ½ cup of grapefruit juice. 
  • Between the third and the fourth session, we recommend a liver and gallbladder detox. You just need to add a tablespoon of Epsom salts to a glass of water. Take it at 4 pm and 6 pm the day 3 and take it at 6 am the day 4. 
  • On day 3 at 8 pm take 100-150ml of Olive oil with the juice of 2 lemons or ½ cup of grapefruit juice.
  •  

Note: At the end of the hidroterapy it's important to start taking probiotics at least for 45 days, with the objective to restore the microbiota.  Example:  ½ of kefir, kombucha twice a day or probiotics pills with 50 billions of strains.

LEAKY GUT RESTORE

The second step of the treatment is to seal the leaky gut. It has to function as a barrier to toxins. Around 70% of the immune system is located in our intestine.

INTEGRATIVE TREATMENT

It's a fundamental part of the protocol. A lot of diseases are produced by taking a harmful diet for our health. We recommend ketogenic and paleo diets.  Characterized by being low carbs, sugar free and gluten free.

Ketogenic diet

What is a ketogenic diet?

Ketogenic diet is a low-carbohydrate, high-fat diet, inducing a change in energy and metabolic status. This means that the body burns fat as its main source of fuel and breaks it down into a process called ketosis due to the reduction of carbohydrates. This means that the body burns fat as its main source of fuel and breaks it down into ketone bodies. 

In complex autoimmune diseases, cancer, diabetes and Alzheimer, this diet is recommended. Our body deflates and the production of ketones produces energy to fight the illness.

Benefits of the ketogenic diet:

Impulse insulin sensitivity and cause loss of body and visceral fat. Which brings a lot of health benefits to people that suffer from type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, hyperinsulinemia and insulin resistance. 

A ketogenic diet promotes a lot of benefits, especially to metabolic, neurological, autoimmune, oncologic and hormones related to insulin sickness. 

 Also, it helps to lose a lot of weight with the right nutrition and food intake.

Note: there is a flu known as keto flu and affects a small group of people when starting the diet. It's characterized by flu symptoms and redness. These symptoms last at eat 5 days.

Paleo diet (low carb)

It is one in which simple carbohydrates (pasta, bread, rice, etc.) must be eliminated and to compensate for this reduction, protein intake must be increased, such as meat, eggs, and healthy fats, which are present in foods such as avocado, nuts, olive oil, and fish, such as sardines and salmon.

One of the big differences with the ketogenic diet is that the consumption of tubers and bananas is allowed and their proportion per plate must be a maximum of 30%, that is, each plate of food is allowed to contain a third of tubers.

Some tips that can help you on the ketogenic or paleo diet...

  • Eat only when you are hungry.
  • You don't need to count calories or weigh food.
  • Forget about processed foods and all those labeled light, low fat, reduced fat...etc.
  • Eat moderate amounts of protein. One or two pieces of protein. It's not about filling your protein plate. In the case of women, protein is measured by the size of the palm of the hand and in men, the palm of the hands plus finger.Ā 
  • Prefer olive, coconut and avocado oil. Avoid corn oil, sunflower oil, vegetable oil.
  • Milk substitutes: almonds, coconut.
  • Almond butter. Make sure they do not contain sugar or sweeteners.
  • Use liquid stevia as a sweetener. For desserts preferably monk fruit. Eliminate splenda and other types of sweetener.
  • Drink enough water daily: 8 or more glasses.

FASTING

Fasting is a tool that provides many benefits, among them, the main and best known is autophagy, a process by which the body's cells get rid of damaged organelles, which causes them to renew themselves. This improves cell function, organs and systems.

In addition to this, it enhances the ketogenic diet by increasing our state of nutritional ketosis and helps reduce inflammation in the body.

What is intermittent fasting?

It is a feeding model that goes by cycles, with periods of fasting and periods of feeding. It is not a diet, but rather an eating program.

There are several methods of intermittent fasting, we can evaluate it according to your case, however, among the most used are the following:

The 8/16 method:

It is known as the “Leangains” method. With it you can eat for 8 hours and have to fast for 16. In short, the normal fasting period includes sleep and a few more hours. It is possible to skip breakfast, for example, and have the first meal at noon and continue eating until 8. You can also have breakfast and dinner early, for example, have breakfast at 8 am and have dinner/lunch at 4 pm.

OMAD (One meal a day) method:

This is a 22 hour fasting with two hours of eating just one meal a day. It is important to eat foods with a high nutritional density such as liver, fatty meats, blue fish, eggs, avocado, broccoli, asparagus, butter ghee, cauliflower... etc.

How does fasting benefit the body?

In addition to restricting calorie intake, it changes the body's hormones so that they can make better use of fat stores. Hormones come from cholesterol through a process called aromatization.

The following changes occur:

Intermittent fasting improves insulin sensitivity, especially in combination with exercise. This is very important for people who have weight problems, because low insulin levels are associated with better fat burning.

The opposite is insulin resistance. Some studies have shown that weight gain can interfere with insulin's ability to lower blood sugar levels, resulting in more insulin. This favors the storage of fat and the loss of muscle mass.

Growth hormone secretion increases by up to 50 times, accelerating protein synthesis and making fat available as an energy source. This means, in a nutshell, that you burn fat and build muscle faster.

Fasting activates autophagy, which eliminates damaged cells, contributes to repair and helps the body's regeneration process.

Intermittent fasting tips to get started:

  • Start little by little and gradually increase your hours of fasting.
  • Do not exaggerate the proportions of food after you have fasted.
  • It is not about eating everything you want after fasting: it is about adopting proper eating habits following a healthy and balanced diet.
  • Drink a lot of water or infusions without sugar.
  • Have patience. It may be difficult to get into the habit of fasting in this way, but you can drink coffee or tea without sugar when you feel hungry.
  • Regularly strength train and make sure you eat enough protein so you don't lose muscle mass.
  • Remember that the most substantial meal should be after training.
  • Rest is very important. Dedicate to rest the time it deserves.
  • Intermittent fasting should be directed by a doctor, nutritionist, or health coach.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND MENTAL RELAXATION

Including a constant exercise routine to a health program ensures your success, giving more effectiveness and permanence to the desired results. 

Regular exercise produces a relaxing and satisfying effect that not only helps you achieve a healthy weight, but also reduces anxiety. This happens because during exercise we release a series of hormones and neurotransmitters that help us to be and feel healthier every day.

Exercise not only stimulates our external movements, but also internally, it also generates work in which various organs participate to ensure that we obtain energy and make the body function properly.

There are studies that show us that the release of endorphins is directly proportional to the level of effort and time that the exercise lasts, so a more intense exercise will mean a greater release of endorphins and a feeling of happiness and well-being than one that involves less effort.

Psychophysical exercises

Perform psychophysical exercises such as Yoga. We recommend doing it between 3 to 5 afternoons a week.

This program must be followed between 3 and 6 months with the exception of the detoxification part (this already has the established times shown).
